WHO IS THE KING OF OUR MUSIC?

ALL HAIL THE KING was born as a Film-School Thesis.

It was a simple premise.

“A journalist gets an exclusive interview with the most famous celebrity in the world amidst controversial abuse allegations, putting both their legacies on the line”.

What begins as typical profile for Calvin Nasir turns into a duel for legacy, truth and justice with one of the most famous people who’ve ever lived.

What does that say about him?

What does that say about fame?

The film examines our society’s relationship to controversial celebrity allegations and the psychological mechanisms behind our responses to them.

It encompasses over two-and-a-half years of research. Two-and-a-half years of trying to answer “how can we use the cinematic medium to try and tell this important story? To try to get some sort of truth out of it?”.

Hundreds of controversial celebrity fans were interviewed in the making of our movie. Defenders and accusers.

"When you make a film it is like asking yourself a question. When it is finished, you know the answer. Ultimately with all of cinema, we are just trying to learn about ourselves. I have always used the opportunity to make a film to learn more about myself, which I am still doing."

- Francis Ford Coppola
